In the Nishijin-ori technique, a myriad of materials with diverse colors and thicknesses are delicately employed to express vibrant and luxurious motifs. By intentionally confining one of the most crucial elements, “color”, solely to “black”, it transitions to an expressive mode grounded in weaving methodology and fabric structure. Leveraging both the traditional techniques passed down from the company’s founders and those acquired through purposeful evolutionary research, Kawashima Selkon Textiles has crafted 100 varieties of black distinguished by an extensive range of expression.
