WOHL HUTTE

Afterglow, Japanese modern lifestyle

WOHL HUTTE focuses on wooden furniture, as well as kitchen and interior design and production in Gifu, Japan, and had a successful first exhibition at the 2024 Superdesign Show. There they met Japanese tea sommelier Kenzo Terada and his brand Teaste It, which presents high-quality teas and matcha from his beloved hometown of Shizuoka. Although their respective businesses are different, their philosophy and concepts, as well as their passion for spreading the modern Japanese lifestyle based on its unique spirituality around the world, matched.

FATE INDUSTRIES, a brand that uses the inorganic metal stainless steel as a material and creates furniture and products that embodies the beauty of organic warmth through the hand of skilled craftsmen, and SAMNICON, a gallery that proposes a careful lifestyle that is passed on to the next generation through design. Sharing the same background in Japanese culture and an appreciation of local craftsmanship, and deeply sympathetic to the philosophy and passion of both brands, they decided to join together.

The definition of beauty that penetrates our senses is found in the rich Japanese climate with its four seasons. Our joint exhibition ‘Afterglow‘ expresses the spirituality of the Japanese people, who value the richness that lies in the heart and the beauty that lies in silence, rather than extravagant decoration and material wealth. Respecting the afterglow of things and perceiving the beauty of the background is an aesthetic that Japanese people cherish, and in this process they find a piece of happiness.
