KARBONY

The show of the shadow

A thread draws the space and the shadows of three small architectures: Planetarium, a source of light, which looks like an infinity of floating orbits; Piuma, a chair that can defy gravity with its 520 grams of taut and woven wire to sit on; finally, Arianna, a table that recalls the most famous weaver of antiquity.

These are the objects by the young start-up KARBONY born from the idea of Carlo Cappellotto of bringing carbon, a privilege today of highly technological sectors like aerospace, into homes, making it a material for interiors. Through a sophisticated technique, carbon becomes a rigid thread, the sum of these creates intertwining drawings, from which the skeleton of the object takes shape. This projects complex and variegated shadows, on which Planetarium, Piuma and Arianna seem to rest, like on supporting elements.
